Overview
Book covers start with a request: title, tone, audience, and how the book should feel on a shelf or thumbnail.
I work from the client’s guidance and description of the story — exploring layout, type, and imagery — then refine to a final cover with bleed and production considerations.
Featured here: Those Left Behind (Jason DeGray / Outlaw Star Press)—post-apocalyptic frontier fiction. The cover needed to carry a harsh world—stripped landscape under an oppressive regime—while matching OSP’s bold brand. Working files include cover options, exports for testing, and final cover art.
Cover design, layout, production files
Full OSP catalog covers (Those Left Behind, Shamus, Prince Aiden, and more) live under Outlaw Star Press (outlawstarpress.com). Like all of my work, this started from a client request—built to their specs when provided, or to specifications I defined when they weren’t. Final files carry my signature for production release.
